Sussex Police Rugby Football club raised £1,156 at a memorial match in honour of Eddie Bristow, the game was made up of the current Sussex Police Rugby team against a Sussex Police Presidents side made up of players from years gone by. It was a close game with the current Sussex Police team winning 32-31 with the last kick of the game.
The money raised was split equally between, St Wilred's Hospice in Chichester - who looked after Eddie in his last days, and Cancerwise - a drop in centre for cancer sufferers which is also based in Chichester - Eddie was a regular and popular vistor to Cancerwise. Both receiving a sum of £578.
The Club also donated £3025 to the Chestnut Tree House Children Hospice following a charity auction and raffle held at the annual end of season dinner.
On the 11th of May in aid of Help for Heroes, Sussex Police Rugby club pulled a Police Riot van 26 miles between the mile markers of the Brighton Sea Front. In doing so they managed to raise a huge amount of £3,821.
